EDUCATION

Duncan McRoberts is well known within the architecture establishment of His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales. He received training in classical architecture in both London & Rome, and began practice with renowned classical architect and theorist Demetri Porphyrios.

He holds M.Arch & B.Arch degrees from the University of Notre Dame School of Architecture, and is an alumnus of The Prince's Foundation For The Built Environment.

HONORS

In 2008, Duncan became established as one of the NEW PALLADIANS, comprising an internationally established selection of leading practitioners of contemporary traditional and classical architecture.

Duncan is an inducted member of the NEW URBAN GUILD, a group of leading new urban planners & architects in the United States. And, he is a founding board member of the International Network of Traditional Building, Architecture & Urbanism in the United States (INTBAU-USA), a new charity sponsored by HRH, The Prince of Wales.

APPOINTMENTS

Additionally, Mr. McRoberts has been involved in other initiatives set forth by HRH, The Prince of Wales, and the Prince of Wales's Projects Office, such as four separate Urban Design Task Force's, including those in the historic centers of Beirut & Berlin.

ATELIER

Duncan's boutique design firm has been practicing architecture in the Pacific Northwest for over a decade. His projects flourish in a variety of unique places in both Oregon and Washington - from rough hewn beautiful coastlines, to arid eastern desert terrain and the sustainably avant-garde cityscapes of Seattle and Portland.

Design work ranges from new urbanism and public building projects - to new villages, estates, houses, country houses and interiors.

THEORY

Duncan maintains that in terms of the built environment, the science of sustainability is holistically incomplete without use of *aesthetic intelligence* in creating beautiful buildings and places.
